It looks like my main host for Pulse is going down in November. It's been around since 2006, and I've been there since 2010. I still have the comic mirrored on a number of places, like ComicFury, Drunkduck, SmackJeeves and here- it just means I have to decide what should replace it as the main site.
If Pulse was currently updating, I'd probably consider self-hosting, but it isn't right now. I'm working on new pages, but I'm still too busy to commit to weekly updates right now, and I'm trying to just build up pages. I don't know when it'll be back.
The best thing is probably to pick out a free comic place and make that the main site (hopefully with a redirect to there to replace the google search listing). SmackJeeves has the fewest people reading, so it's a bad choice. Druckduck doesn't allow you to customize anything anymore, so it's a bad choice. That leaves ComicFury or to set up a comic on Tumblr (there are themes that make it more like a comic site, but the themes are difficult to edit).

Patreon Commissions
I've been considering adding commission tiers to my Patreon. I figure I should keep it simple, and/or start out small. Probably limit it to SFW items? My question is, does anyone have any advice or suggestions for that? Should I make someone wait to get their item until the month is over and they've paid? If I added it now for example, would that be a bad idea? I'm not sure if there would be some way to get the item and escape without paying. Any thoughts or suggestions how much I should charge? I think someone once suggested $250 for a picture based on the Patreon of a much more popular artist. That seems unreasonably high for me, and more like what I'd try to ask for a comic page. I'd start low in a normal situation just to gauge if anyone was interested at all, but if I limit the tiers to only a few people, it'll be hard to guess if there's enough demand to charge more. So I don't know if I should start higher, more like what I'd like to get? Then lower if there's no
Patreon Comic Poll
https://www.patreon.com/lightfoot for the $2 tier and up, "A Day Off No Matter What" page 6 has been added. Which is a canon Pulse side-comic. (When I asked Patreon's what kind of Pulse comic they wanted, they said "beach comic"). Now, I'm half-way-ish through the comic, and I think I should switch to monthly polls about what side-comic I'm working on there. While I'm currently working on a comic, the first poll question is "should I continue A Day Off No Matter What or not". If the answer is yes, I'll continue working on it until the next poll at the start of the next month. If the answer is no, then I'll ask for requests for what the different comic should be about, then have a poll there to choose which comic I work on for the rest of the month. At least so far, the comic can't have nudity, and I guess it being about Pulse characters isn't a requirement. Just mentioning it here.

Patreon
I've started up a Patreon for Pulse- https://www.patreon.com/lightfoot I felt like there were a lot of ways to go with it, and I'd like your input- but instead of waiting for years longer considering things, I needed to just try something and see what happens. I felt like making it Pulse-centric made the most sense because it's what I already make, and already has readers.

Having the same trouble with my own site. Most of the software packages that I was using are no longer supported, and are now dated (and vulnerable to hacks). So far, haven't found any viable alternatives.
