I've been sitting on this idea for a while.  I remember mentioning it somewhere.  It seemed like such an odd idea I'd have to do it.  I had a different love interest in mind for Lucy as one point, but this seems more fun.  I didn't create Tyrone for this reason though.

I'm not sure this reasoning is important enough to cover in the story, but I assume neither Lucy or Tyrone can use something to change their size (magic or whatever) because of their cybernetics.  Usually when that kind of thing happens, it doesn't alter anything that isn't natural.

I also corrected a typo mentioned on Twitter on page 192, and I still have to correct the steep rank on page 193, and I think three small art mistakes in the last chapter.

I thought of another option besides shrinking/growing: […stretching[/url].

That could be Lucy's "scary" power?

I'd think that would be really disturbing to see.

I like that you had to have a reason about shrinking/growing. That it's just assumed in this universe that it's just a thing and you had to come up with a reason it wouldn't work.

Maybe some girls want to ride on their boyfriend's shoulder?

transformers often have large size differences between their car and humanoid forms, especially soundwave and his tape animals.

In the web comic giant girl, her sidekick 64-bit can transform into any video game character including huge robots or tiny (non-mushroom) mario.

In the New Mutants, way, way back when Iliana Rasputina was turning into darkchilde out of control and unleashed a horde of demons on new york (turned into a big cross over event, named Inferno) lots of the robots and cyborgs in the comics were changing size, plus the demons got infected with some alien cyborg virus from the robot on the team and then they became shape shifters like Warlock (… could change size quite drastically, shrinking down small to spy then getting big to fight and/or making all kinds of odd objects (walls to block doors, rockets for travel etc).

And I'll always remember my favorite episode of The Greatest American Hero, when the aliens come back to earth to check in on Ralph and see how he's doing, and when he explains he lost his instruction book and doesn't know how to use his suit, they give him a new one. Right after they leave he's experimenting with all his powers listed in the book and tries out shrinking. He shrinks down super tiny, gets scared by an ant, and grows back big. Then he realizes he dropped the instruction book. =)

Still, it's your universe, and making inorganic items NOT change shape is a very interesting limit that does fun things to the story. For example, make sure you use wood and not plastic or metal buttons on your clothes. No knives or guns.

But I do know this much: Lucy and Tyrone need better imaginations. There's lots of ways to have fun.

Tyrone and Lucy do end up together I assume.  She's interested, but rigidly practical.  It's just if I just act like they are compatible now (maybe Lucy is amazingly able), that they accept a non-conventional physical relationship, or he changes.  Having his powers taken away might return him to a more normal size.
